Burning salt water may be a key to unlocking alternative fuels. Rustom Roy seems to think so. he's a professor and doctor who has been doing research regarding the characteristics of salt water. Roy believes that with just the right radio frequencies, salt water can in fact burn. His research was based on earlier work by John Kanzius.

Dr Rustom Roy has been doing research into the idea of burning salt water.
The discovery is "the most remarkable in water science in 100 years," Dr Roy said.
"This is the most abundant element in the world. It is everywhere," Roy said. "Seeing it burn gives me the chills."

Dr Rustom Roy sure thinks so. He's been working in a scientific lab trying to reproduce a study done years earlier that suggested a method for burning salt water using radio frequencies.
Seems unlikely, but so did the concept of electricity. Who knows, maybe this guy is just crazy enough to try something new that'll work.
