Buzz Aldrin (born Edwin Eugene Aldrin, Jr., January 20, 1930) was a pilot on Apollo 11, the first space flight mission to land astronauts on the moon.

At the behest of Supervisor Mike Antonovich, the board is appointing Gemini 12 and Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin as its very own "Honorary Consul General to the Moon from Los Angeles County." Even after his trip to the moon, Buzz Aldrin has led a pretty exciting life. A scientist, engineer, space exploration historian and science-fiction writer, Aldrin guest-starred as himself on "The Simpsons" in 1994, and recorded a rap song with Snoop Dogg and Quincy Jones earlier this year.
