Byron Leftwich

PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to terms with veteran backup quarterback Byron Leftwich. Terms of the one-year deal were not disclosed. Leftwich missed the entire 2011 season after breaking his left arm in the preseason.  

Lost in the hubbub of The NFL Draft Experience was a key indication of how the Steelers were going to prepare for their yearly selection of amateurs. The Pittsburgh Steelers agreed to a one-year contract with veteran quarterback Byron Leftwich. Leftwich spent last season on injured reserve with a broken arm. A former Jacksonville Jaguars first-round draft pick from Marshall, Leftwich has also played for the Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and three seasons with the Steelers.
