Code division multiple access (CDMA) is a technology used in mobile telephony to handle multiple access without dividing the channel by time (as in TDMA) or frequency (as in FDMA). CDMA uses a special code associated with each channel to perform the multiplexing. Qualcomm has led the charge to promote CDMA.
