Moody's Investors Services raised credit ratings on Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. on Monday, saying the tire maker's restructuring efforts and pricing actions helped improve its performance in the second and third quarters of 2009.Moody's lifted its corporate family rating, which assesses a company's ability to honor its financial obligations, and probability of default rating to "B2" from "B3." Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. said Wednesday it lost $21.3 million in the first quarter as consumers bought fewer replacement tires.Chief Executive Roy Armes said raw materials costs have fallen but that overcapacity is still depressing sales throughout the industry.The tire company said Wednesday its loss amounted to 36 cents per share for the three months ended March 31.
