American Axle strike to shut GM plants

 

General Motor Corp. will halt production at three more truck-building factories Friday due to the American Axle strike.

Production at GM factories in Flint, Fort Wayne, Ind., and Oshawa, Ontario, will stop at the end of Friday's second shift, GM Spokesman Tom Wickham said. The automaker closed its Pontiac Truck plant Wednesday.

The United Auto Workers has been on strike since Tuesday at American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings Inc. plants in Michigan and Detroit.
