Lowes and Customer Dissatisfaction
I am appalled by Mr. Niblock's refusal to answer my letters regarding a sizable purchase I made of three roofing installations which turned out to be a nightmare. And the matter has still not been resolved, despite all of my phone calls to Lowes Customer Service, and letters to Mr. Niblock. A Lowes installer did not install Owens Corning architectural shingles and venting materials which I purchased from Lowes according to industry standards. As a result of the installer's sloppy and substandard workmanship, I now have mold and mildew in my home which is a serious hazard to my health, in addition to water damage to the interior and exterior. Neither Lowes or the installer has assumed responsibility for not installing the ridge vents on all three structures properly and for not installing the roofing materials in such a way as to ensure protection again wind and rain. I see water coming into my attic, bedrooms, second floor landings and closets. Inspectors, Lowes managers and adjusters have been coming to my home and taking notes but to this day, I still haven't heard from Lowes that they will take action in resolving this matter.
I am writing this blog to inform readers that before they purchase a roofing installation from Lowes, they should first hire an independent roofing expert to check the structure before and after the Lowes roofing installation to ensure quality workmanship. Evidently, when Lowe's managers inspect the job after the roofing installation, they really are not inspecting the job according to standard roofing installation specifications. I found this out over time, when I realized I needed to hire a roofing expert Russel Watsky and an architect versed in recognizing the origins of water damage, Bell and Spina of Syracuse, New York to inspect my three structures and determine that indeed the mold, mildew and water damage is a result of the faulty roofing installations.
And despite my forwarding the roofing expert's and architect's reports verifying that the damages are due to the faulty roofing installation, Lowes still has not taken action to resolve this case.
Beware of promises Lowes offers you regarding Quality Workmanship on their Installation services! Until I receive a positive response from Lowes in which they will correct the installation problem, pay for repair of all the damages to the interior and exterior of my home and pay for the extra roofing inspections made by Russel Watsky and Bell and Spina, my faith and trust in Lowes is totally null and void.
