Verizon Wireless CEO Ivan Seidenberg tells the Wall Street Journal that his company intends to follow through with its $28.1 billion buyout of Alltel Corp . The paper quotes Seidenberg as saying the challenge would be to arrange financing that isn't too costly, a tricky proposition that we?ve noted on several occasions on this blog. Leap Wireless International has asked U.S. telecom regulators to block the sale of Alltel Corp. to Verizon Wireless. ? Leap , the parent company of Cricket and Jump Mobile , operates in 23 markets and holds wireless licenses in 35 of the top 50 U.S. markets, according to its web site.
