The Large Hadron Collider is a particle accelerator and collider located at CERN, near Geneva, Switzerland. It is currently under construction, but nearing completion.

The LHC is expected to become the world's largest and highest energy particle accelerator. Over 2000 physicists have worked on the development and planning of the hadron collider.

The hadron collider is in a 17 mile long tunnel located underground.

Legal Intervention against the Large Hadron Collider

Seems some people are a little worried about what effects the Large Hadron Collider could have on earth.

A website has been set-up in search for donations for a legal fund that hopes to set an intervention on CERN's plans for the large Hadron Collider, well until a full risk assessment has been done.

Sounds like a good idea actually, the colliders Sci-Fi huge and I can't think of anything on a scale similar to this project, so maybe they should think about all possible negative outcomes before they go full speed, makes sense.

Though I don't know a whole lot about the specifics of this project, with something so huge, there's bound to be things overlooked.
