President Obama Releases Country-Filled Election Playlist - 2012-02-13
The list is officially on Spotify, President Obama has made his 2012 election playlist! Nearly a fourth of the 25-song playlist (see below) is country and features artists such as Dierks Bentley, Sugarland and Darius Rucker.
“Dierks Bentley calls country music the best shrink $15 can buy,” Obama said in 2009. The President appears to still be a fan.
Although these country artists’ music has been selected for the re-election campaign, this does not and is not intended to reflect their political opinions.
In an interview with The Boot, Dierks said he hates “to put any barriers on a song” and while he’s happy for it to be included on the list, he hopes it does not deter anyone from his music.
