Cochin (Kochi),Kerala – Day Three and Four
Laura was laid up in bed all day with food poisoning from the meal we had the night before at the Fort House Hotel and Restaurant, Fort Cochin. I kept her company all day, and while she was resting and recovering I managed to get some mundane blog tasks done.
Day Four
We needed to go from Fort Cochin to Ernakulam to visit the Vodafone shop to top up our phone data. It was a
15 minute walk from Hotel Arches to the ferry terminus, we arrived only to discover that there was ZERO public transport because people were striking over the rises in fuel prices.
This messed up the entire day for us. We spent a bit of time wandering round Fort Cochin, but it must have been 99% humidity, so not very pleasurable. We stopped off at the Old Harbour House hotel for a shockingly expensive (Rs.250) bottle of Kingfisher lager, but needs must.
The evening involved beer at a more reasonable price (Rs.135) in the XL bar at the end of Rose Street.
