Random acts of hoteling.
We arrived in Fort Cochin very early in the morning with no hotel accommodation booked. We’d intended to find a cafe where I could wait and rest my injured foot while Richard looked round to find us somewhere to stay.
Unfortunately we were so early that none of the cafes or restaurants were open. We decided to walk round exploring our new temporary home and we came to Hotel Arches which had a
menu outside. Richard asked if they were open for breakfast. They were, so we went in for coffee.
The owner said we should have a look at a room. We said it looked way over our budget. He said that maybe he could do a deal, so Richard went off with him to look at a room and a deal was done.
Richard returned to me smiling and told me that the room was very nice. We finished our breakfast, checked in and went up to our room.
As soon as I saw the room I was happy, it was a very nice room.
Our room was a good size, well appointed, it had air-conditioning,
a large comfortable double bed, a fridge, TV, large window seat and best of all free WiFi. The bathroom was also a good size, it had constant hot water, lots of fresh clean towels and complimentary toiletries. Our room was spotlessly clean as was everywhere in the hotel.
Hotel Arches has a restaurant on the ground floor and a rooftop restaurant. Continental breakfast was included in our room rate and was served up on the pleasant roof top restaurant. Our breakfast consisted of fresh fruit which included banana, watermelon, papaya and pineapple. It also came with a large glass of freshly blitzed pineapple juice, choice of eggs, toast, and tea or coffee.
After spending our first night at Hotel Arches in Fort Cochin we liked it so much that we stayed for a week.
