Currently, there’s no firm time as to when we might expect Colaiacovo back in the lineup.
Fairchild, besides having a pretty awesome name, will slide in as the team’s 7th defenseman and offer additional depth if the club requires it. He’s already been having a very successful run with the Peoria Rivermen, skating in 17 games while scoring two goals and four assists. He currently leads the AHL with a +13 plus/minus rating.
The former 96th overall pick in the 2007 NHL Draft could be making his debut in the coming days or weeks, depending on the exact severity of Colaiacovo’s injury.
It’s never fun to see regulars go down with an injury, but the bright side of all this is we’ll likely get to see one of the team’s prospects in action – a joy for any hockey fan.
