CAIRO – Thousands of prisoners escaped from the Wadi Natrun facility in north of Cairo amid the nationwide riots, reports here said Sunday, quoting security officials.
Earlier the Dubai-based Arabiya TV reported that around 5,000 Egyptian prisoners broke out of a prison in the Fayyoum Govenorate on Saturday night.

CARACAS — One person was killed and about 40 were injured in explosions at an ammunition depot in central Venezuela Sunday, and the local residents were forced to evacuate, local officials said.
A local official told state television that a woman close to the arsenal was probably killed by the powerful blasts in the city of Maracay, Aragua state. The explosions were reportedly triggered by a fire, and the cause of the blaze remained unclear.

MOSCOW — Four people were killed in a pub fire in Russian Volga city of Kazan early Sunday, local media reported.
According to a local emergency services spokesman cited by RIA Novosti news agency, the fire broke out at local time 4:47 am (GMT 0147) in Kazan’s Leprikon pub. Seven people were evacuated by rescuers.
