The set was made up of six boys and two girls, weight from 1 pound 8 ounces to 3 pounds 4 ounces, at the time of birth it was unknown whether or not all babies would survive.

The octuplets born to a California woman in January of 2009. At first, doctors believed she was only carrying 7 babies, but when she delivered at 23 weeks she delivered a surprise eight baby.

The first set of octuplets born in the U.S. were delivered in Houston, TX in 1998, one of the infants died shortly after birth.
