I attended the California State Fair on Friday and among the deep fried food on a stick and endless sheep and llama pens, I was surprised to see a VERY small Republican Party of California booth set up across from an aqua-heel comfort shoe insert booth and down the way from the personality test computer. The booth itself was extremely modest and the goal of the two volunteers working the booth seemed to be voter registration. I'm sure you've all heard about UC Berkeley but you truly can't appreciate the insanity that goes on there unless you experience the Left Coast. Last week Code Pink and UC Berkeley students staged a protest out a Marine Recruiters office as part of their ongoing protest of the war in Iraq and the military in general. Code Pink went as far as to deface the windows and sidewalks infront the office and even harassed potential recruits going to and from the office.
