He rode the winning horse Super Saver to victory in the 136th annual race. Churchill Downs is still packed, though torrential rains have been coming down all day.

Also celebrating today is the horse's trainer, Todd Pletcher, who was 0 for 24 in the Kentucky Derby until today. He also had 3 other horses in this race, so we have to think the odds might have been in his favor.

Borel won the derby last year too, beating the odds with a 50-1 longshot Mine That Bird. The two-time winner is hopefully enjoying the rest of his day and throwing back some mint juleps to celebrate.

Here are the top 4 horses from today's derby:
Winner (1st): Super Saver
Place (2nd): Ice Box
Show (3rd): Paddy O’Prado
4th: Make Music For Me

Were it not for the Kentucky Derby (and, of course, Aretha Franklin), the U.S. would be a sad place for ostentatious hats. Check out these pics from the 2009 Derby for your fill of silly headwear!
