Camelot is the most famous fictional castle and court associated with the legendary King Arthur. Camelot is the fantastic capital of Arthur's realm, from which he fought many of the battles and quests that made up his life. Camelot as a place is associated with ideals like justice, bravery and truth, all the virtues Arthur and his knights embodied in the romances. As Camelot is absent from the early Arthurian resources and its location, if it even existed, is unknown. Thus most modern academic scholars regard it as being entirely fictional, its vague geography being perfect for romance writers: "Camelot, located nowhere in particular, can be anywhere."

This Wikizine is about Camelot and its many manifestations in political, entertainment, social, psychological and religious culture.

CULT show Bonekickers, about a team of archaeologists solving historical mysteries, has been buried by the BBC after just one series, following poor ratings and bad reviews. Described as 'CSI meets Indiana Jones', the six-part drama starred Adrian Lester, Julie Graham and Hugh Bonneville and was written by Matthew Graham and Ashley Pharoah, the team behind Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes. Storylines involved the Knights Templar, the Crucifixion cross, the Great Fire of Rome, a Boudicca love affair and King Arthur's sword Excalibur - good ideas ruined by poor writing and risible dialogue (with 'Don't mess with me, I'm an archaeologist' a ...
