New Starz Camelot Series - Enough is Enough
Ok So here with have the new Camelot series from the acclaimed Starz who brought us one of the best TV shows ever Spartacus. What can i say that so many forums have written themselves on how much of a massive let down this show is. So many people try so hard including myself to enjoy this show but its just so weak actually thats too fair the writing is pathetic.
Camelot started out with a launch of 1.2 million viewers and instantly dropped to 700 thousand and never recovered since averaging around the 500-700 thousand mark compare this to Spartacus which brough 2.5 million viewers each episode and increased over time. Not a good sign at all and other shows like Game of Thrones by HBO and Bodias have already got the go ahead for season 2. Yet with one part left of season 1 of camelot to go no news and to be honest word we have is there will not be a season 2.
So why is it failing:
1. Jamie campbell bower as King Arthur - he is the biggest miskast is writing history - totally unbelievable, doesnt act very well at all with 384 votes stating this on the imdb alone.
2. The writing is extremely poor considering each episode has a budget of 1 million+ this is very bad, no CGI has been used at all in this budget unless a bit of morphing counts... Battle of Bardon pass a battle was it?? well i saw 7 men go against 20+ thats more like a B movie skirmish than a battle this is Legendary Camelot??????
3. plot holes and terrible editing and predictability : - Morgan can leave camelot no one is around no guards nothing.. yet young boy turns up to see king arthur a wee while later loads of people loads of guards at the entrance he cant get in... Stuff like this is constant on the show very very weak.... Arthurs army consists of 7 men???? i guess they are all Supermen. Episode the long night.. all stuck at castle pendragon supposed to be an attack iminent so what do they do arthurs men Piss off the end of the battlements after a couple of solitary arrows came in earlier... Yet that was believable from Veteran fighters not!... I guess they wanted there dicks to have arrow decorations... Yet again on this episode, if these guys were veterans they would of known they were not under siege again pathetic.. and do not get me started on the arthur saving the women from the burning bulding and jumping on a hay cart...
4. Guinevere is more like a prom queen than some fairy tale princess she is not believable at all
I have only scratched at the faults of this show others have written pages on how bad it is, but for this series to survive then Its obvious Arthur needs to be changed, maybe go 5 years or 10 years in the future and bring in another actor because as it stands Eva Green as morgan is fantastic and she deserves Camelot not the whimpy Jamie Bower Arthur. I would also like to say getting rid of James Purefoy near the beginning was also an extremely bad move that guy is quality just watch Rome by HBO he should of stayed in this show.
So there you have it my review and well if you want a show that will blow your mind watch the Game of Thrones it makes Camelot look like a cheap poorly written adventure that people will give up on. So as for series 2 i very much doubt it which is a shame as after Spartacus and seeing what Starz did with that Camelot could of been amazing.. Rating 2/10
