Poll: Has the media gone too far?

Britney, Vanessa, Lindsay, Miley, Paris… What comes to mind when you hear those names? You don’t have to be told the last name, because you immediately think of controversy.

Has the media gone too far? In this day in age, it is no longer good enough to be famous. You must be infamous. Celebrities are getting famous from doing absolutely nothing nowadays. Nothing except partying, making sex tapes, and living lives of excess.

But are these girls the ones to blame? Sure, they’re wild. But what teen and young adult isn’t? The only difference is that Hollywood celebrities have their dirty laundry aired for the world to see.

The problem with this is that young girls grow up idolizing these stars. And they can’t separate right from wrong, so they imitate what they see on tv.

How would you feel as a parent if you had to explain to your 8 year old daughter that they can’t wear crop tops like Britney Spears; or they can’t post sexually suggestive pics on myspace? This sounds kind of silly right? Wrong, you’d be surprised at how clueless the average tween and teen are.
