Inquiry into Execution of Potentially Innocent Cameron Todd Willingham Stymied by Texas Gov. Rick Perry

The evidence continues to mount that the state of Texas executed a potentially innocent man, Cameron Todd Willingham, for a crime he didn't commit. Just days before a committee was to convene, reviewing evidence that the investigation and prosecution that led to Willingham's death by the hands of the state, Texas governor Rick Perry removed three of the member of the panel, cancelling the meeting.

Cameron Todd Willingham, executed by the state of Texas in 2004.
Some are now raising concerns that the Republican governor, who refused to grant a stay of execution to Willingham, is attempting to block the progress of the investigation. Willingham was executed in 2004 for the 1991 murder of his three children in a house fire. A review of the evidence has turned up numerous inconsistencies with the case the prosecution presented.

The committee to review the case was to meet on Friday. A statement from the governer's office simply stated the meeting was canceled. No new meeting date has been given.
