New dad Matthew McConaughey is nuttier than a peanut butter sandwich.

In an interview with CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta, McConaughey says he has saved the placenta from the birth of his son Levi and is planning on planting it in his backyard.

Obviously! What do you do with your placenta? Throw it away because it’s really really gross? PAH! You uncultured swines you!

“It’s going to be in the orchards and it’s going to bear some wonderful fruit,” says the actor.

He claims when he was on a trip to Australia “they had a placenta tree that was on the river…and all the placentas of all that tribe, all that clan, whatever aboriginal tribe that was, all the placentas went under that one tree and it was this huge behemoth of just health and strength.”

Uhhhh…..

So Matthew can look out in his backyard for years to come saying “Yup, placenta is comin up nice this time of year”
