We are not in the news! Our motor home is for sale. When it is sold, before long we think, we will be in the news at least on this blog. We have it rented out in February and the first part of April. Our daughter will stay in it when she visits in March. Is this a possible on going use for a motor home? Does renting it out make good sense and is it a tax advantage one could use? I don't know the answer yet but I will probably before the day is out.

We have a friend that has a motor home with the same V10 Ford engine as ours. It has 150000 and just keeps on ticking. I think it is a very good testimonial to its durability. We only have 19000 miles on ours so it has a trip around the world on it still. When I go inside, it still smells new. We do know that it shows that we have had it for several years. The carpets will be professionally cleaned before long and all the floors waxed. We kept the cushions on the sleeper sofa in the living room covered so they are like new. We have painted the bathroom cabinet and the surround for the mirror in the bedroom to make it look more stylish. The kitchen linoleum is not perfect but it is so gorgeous. People have asked so many times if it is tile.

A blog I saw the other day talked
about the leg room with the Ford V10 engines. I cannot imagine what they were talking about. I sit very comfortable at the pull out desk for my computer...when parked and on the road. The printer fits beautifully on the console between the driver and passenger's seat. A cigarette power point convertor that can be used when we travel allows me to do that. It is located right under the computer desk along with telephone jack and a plug in.

We have it listed with Sell It Now Motors (#16922). We listened carefully to the salesman and they offer a refund of the listing price after 90 days if they do not sell it. We are not sure if this will work because, as with all such offers, there are hoops that you need to jump through. We thought it was worth a try. We also loved the idea that they offered financing and actually have a loan calculator on the page where the RV is advertised.

We have the motor home parked in Rincon Country East,
Tucson, Az. This award winning resort for RVs and park model owners is one of the nicest we have ever stayed in. Because they are so aware of the RVer's needs, we have been able to leave our Dolphin RV parked next to our park model up until now. But with the Gem Show in town we may need to store it in the resort storage area. This, it turns out is a real bonus for RVers. You can actually leave your motor home here in the summer for a small amount, save gas on the drive back north and have it just where you want it next winter. Then you can travel here in the south and not worry about slick roads on the way down and back. We love that!

Note: Have you ever read The Secret? I received a copy of it for Christmas from my son and his family. It was a mesmerizing kind of book with neo-spiritual overtones. I found it interesting. The reason I mention it is because the underlying message was that we make our own reality; i.e. when you say it is going to be a bad day it probably will be. When it comes to the motor home, I think it is sold, or will be sold today. We will make other arrangements for our renters when it sells. That is not a stumbling block. I believe it. I am very close to that now. It just seems to me that someone will need what we possess and we will want what they have in return.

Isn't retirement wonderful! Have a great day!
