Pocket ChainSaw
I like to keep my ATV camping gear as light and compact as possible. I also like gear that is very versatile. There is one piece of camping gear that I found that is small and compact, but is also a very useful piece of gear to carry on my ATV. It is the Pocket ChainSaw.
The Pocket ChainSaw is a 27” flexible blade saw that uses flat links that are riveted together similar to a chain saw blade. Each link has triangular cutting teeth enabling the saw to cut in both directions. The saw cuts like a conventional carpenter’s saw making a 1/8 inch wide cut. Made of high strength, heat-treated steel, it maintains it sharp edge for thousands of cuts.
I was impressed at how fast and clean the Pocket ChainSaw cuts. It works well cutting 1” to 8” diameter branches and trees with no problem. It comes with handles that makes it comfortable to use. What I like best is the size and the fact the saw packs away in a 2-3/4” diameter storage can, the handles store separately.
I store the Pocket ChainSaw on my ATV as I found it comes in handy when I find a tree has fallen across the trail. When ATV camping it is great for cutting wood for the campfire and for projects around the campsite. It is quick and easy to use and and with it being light and compact it it the perfect ATV camping accessory.
