Bladder cancerPlease explain CT Scan results in plain english.?
The scan basically says that there is a mass in the bladder which goes through the entire bladder wall (transmural). The mass along with the wall thickening and perivesical fat stranding (a sign of inflammation) points to the possibility of this being cancerous. The ureters which connect the kidneys to the bladder are normal. There is no lymph node involvement or metastasis- that is good.

Best of luck with your treatment. How could it take 8 months to see a urologist?!
I have to assume you want to know the answers to your questions or you wouldn’t ask, but this is not how patients should learn about their disease. I am very sorry, but you have cancer. Most bladder cancers are superficial, but yours is not. You need to see a urologist right away. When bladder cancers have invaded the muscle there is a small window of opportunity (10-12 weeks) to take care of it or it may hamper survival. The perivesical fat and the pleura are beyond the muscle, meaning it is no longer localized. Call the urologist’s office and speak with the office manager and fax your report over. They should understand the urgency of your situation. The doctor will likely do a TURBT in the hospital to get a good look at it, resect as much of it as possible and to get the histology and the grade. I work for several hospitals and was married to a urologist and I do not know a single one who would schedule a patient in this situation several weeks later. I apologize if I have been too blunt or appear too harsh, I do not mean to be. Best wishes.
Thanks Gu Ga for the tip
