Candice Moncayo was allegedly attacked by suspected Chelsea King murderer John Albert Gardner while she was on a run on the same trail where King was abducted, according to ABC. The 23-year-old grad student apparently running when Gardner tried to tackle her.

Luckily, she was able to get away from him by elbowing him in the face. She recognized him when he was arrested for Chelsea's disappearance and notified the authorities about her December 2009 incident. "I thought he was going to rape me," Moncayo said. "So I told him he would have to kill me first."

Gardner is also being investigated for 14-year-old Amber Dubois' disappearance in February 2009 from an area close by. Dubois' father said: "The similarities, the accessibility of the location ... there are enough similarities" to possibly link Garder to Amber's case.
