Candis Cayne is a well-known trandgendered actress, known best for her role on the ABC series Dirty Sexy Money. She is the first transgendered actress to play a transgendered character in a prime time series.
She was born as Brendan McDaniel, and trained as a dancer. She began transitioning from a male to female in 1996. Cayne has stated, "I'm not trying to be a spokeswoman for the transgender community; I just want to be looked at as a living, breathing, happy human being."
