Hokuloa, a Ventura Outrigger Canoe Club, is sponsoring a premier outrigger canoe race for hundreds of Southern California paddlers on Saturday June 9, 2012, from 8:00 am to 3:00 p.m. at Harbor Cove Beach in Ventura.

Here is a summer project from two years ago that I never posted. It is a skin on frame outrigger sailing canoe. The frame of the canoe is made with white oak ribs and larch for the gunwales, keelson, and chines. The seating platform and outriggers are douglas fir.
