Cape Henry Lighthouse

When concerns about the stability of the original Cape Henry lighthouse arose after it was damaged by Union forces during the War of Northern Aggression, the government commissioned another to be built nearby. The new Cape Henry Lighthouse was completed in 1881, and stands 350 feet southeast of the original. It is still active today.
