Scorching Woodhall Spa

By Jaimie Dobson on  From caravancapers.co.uk
On the run up to Easter we decided to book four nights down at the Woodhall Spa CCC club site once again and boy were we glad as the weather was scorching. We've been to the Woodhall Spa site before, back in 2009. It's a nice site set in amongst trees next to a pine tree plantation on a former WW2 airfield which was the historical home of the famous 617 Squadron. There's a Rudd filled lake in the middle of the site which boils with their activity if fed with breadcrumbs from the small...Read Full Story

Barnard Castle: Easter 2009 - Bank Holiday Monday

By Jaimie Dobson on  From caravancapers.co.uk
Today, Monday, is our last day at the Barnard Castle site, having arrived here last Thursday. We originally booked to stay until yesterday (Easter Sunday) but as the weather was glorious and neither of us had any pressing need to be back in the office on Tuesday morning, we thought sod it and booked another night on our “grass with electric” pitch. After this we jumped in the car for a jaunt up the road to the High Force Falls which is about 12 miles away just outside Middleton-in-Teesdale...Read Full Story

You Dirty Old Devil!

By Jaimie Dobson on  From caravancapers.co.uk
After Easter's jaunt away, the first time with our new pup Lucy; we came to realise that its time we bought a vac for cleaning out our van mid trip, rather than waiting until we got home.So off we went down to the local retail park to browse round the multiples to see what they had on display.Initially our thoughts were set on one of those Dyson handhelds. After all we've had a Dyson upright for a number of years in the house and it's a brand we are loyal to given their vac's abilities to...Read Full Story

Barnard Castle: Easter 2009

By Jaimie Dobson on  From caravancapers.co.uk
It’s the start of our second season as caravan converts and we’ve chosen to spend it at the C&C Club site near Barnard Castle in County Durham. This trip also marks our first foray with our new puppy, Lucy (pictured); who we’ve had since January so there was some apprehension as to how she’d settle in. At 6 months old and still convalescing after having just had her “tubes” cut a few days prior to setting off, we had some concerns.A two hour trip north up the A1 and along the A66 and we were...Read Full Story

Woodhall Spa: May Spring Break 2009

By Jaimie Dobson on  From caravancapers.co.uk
A joint break of 5 nights away with my wife's brother, his wife their little un, our two and half year old nephew; at the Camping and Caravanning Club site of Woodhall Spa on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds was a welcome change for us given as it was our first trip away since Easter. The site itself isn't particularly big (about 90 pitches I'm led to believe) and is set in the middle of woodland. A whacking great big pond full of bread laden fish and Mallards, offers a central focus point...Read Full Story
