Carine Roitfeld is a "Fashion Martyr"

Carine Roitfeld, the ex-model editrix behind French Vogue, was attacked by PETA protesters outside Jean Paul Gaultier's show at Paris Fashion Week.

reported the anti-fur crusaders ripped the sleeve of Roitfeld's Balenciaga gown in an attempt to disrobe her of her lilac goat fur coat. Other portesters chucked eggs at editors as they tried to enter the show.

While PETA's cause is admirable, its fashion week efforts will do little but prove the organization a nuisance to the sartorial higher-ups (Roitfeld wasn't ruffled by her torn sleeve; she reportedly called herself a "fashion martyr" after the attack). PETA might make better use of its money by assisting spay/neuter organizations and no-kill shelters. Egging editors is totally not vegan.
