For those that grew up to the dulcet tones of Carl Kasell reading the news, it's a sad day. Kasell announced that he plans to retire. The veteran newscaster will give his final broadcast on December 30. The good news, however, is that he'll continue on serving as an official judge and scorekeeper for Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!
