The French Embassy in Ukraine says that the son of French President Nicolas Sarkozy has been hospitalized in the Black Sea city of Odessa.

Embassy spokesman Emmanuel Berard said Wednesday that Pierre Sarkozy, a rap producer in his twenties, has been taken to a hospital after feeling ill. Berar did not provide any more details.

Ukrainian media reports said Sarkozy was in Odessa to perform at an elite club, but his appearance was canceled due to his illness. Sarkozy, also known as DJ Mosay, is the French President's oldest son.
