Detroit Mayor Kilpatrick Will RESIGN and Go To JAIL
Here's what USA Today reported:
--The deal calls for Kilpatrick, 38, to plead guilty to two felony counts of obstruction of justice by committing perjury. He will serve four months in jail, pay up to $1 million in restitution and serve five years' probation. Kilpatrick also agreed not to run for office during that five-year span.
The mayor will turn over his state pension to the city of Detroit, which paid $8.4 million to settle two whistle-blower lawsuits three former cops filed against the city.
Kilpatrick was charged with eight felony counts ranging from conspiracy and perjury, to misconduct in office and obstruction of justice after the Detroit Free Press revealed in January that he and his then-chief of staff, Christine Beatty, lied on the witness stand during the trial of one of the whistle-blower suits last year.--
What a idiot! He has to be one of dumbest politicians out there. This couldn't happen at a worse time in political history.
