The second round unfolded and top safety prospects like Taylor Mays and Nate Allen came off the board before Cincinnati’s pick came up. Rather than reaching for a safety, the Bengals went after No. 3 on my list of draft needs, pass rusher, by taking Florida defensive end Carlos Dunlap. An athletic freak with talent worthy of a first round pick, Dunlap slips because of his work ethic. His bio and scouting report read similarly to last year’s third-rounder, Michael Johnson, and now they will...Read Full Story
During most of the 2010 season the Bengals pass rush seemed to be non-existent, injuries definitely played a role, but one of the few bright spots however had to be 2nd round pick Carlos Dunlap who finished the season with a rookie team record of 9.5 sacks which he accumulated with limited playing time. Dunlap saw most of his game action towards the end of the year due to player injuries and made the most of his opportunities.
I know there are Bengals fans like myself that would love to see...Read Full Story

Excerpt below, full story here.Anger and gratitude slugged it out between Carlos Dunlap Sr.'s burning ears all the way through the ACE Basin and down I-95. "My son is 6-6, but I wanted to wring his neck," he said. "But as I got closer to Gainesville (Fla.), I thought about how fortunate I really was. My son hadn't died. Carlos Dunlap Is One Of Pro Football Focus's Secret Superstars
PFF has never been shy about their love obsession with defensive end Carlos Dunlap, who doesn't always create havoc in the form of sacks, but quarterback hits and pressures. Though many have heard of Carlos Dunlap by now, he did not make this year's Pro Bowl and is still "something of a secret superstar".
+ Former Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer appeared on the Dan Patrick Show Monday morning, discussing the Oakland Raiders' future while promoting that last year's trade was the best thing that could have happened for both organizations. No one has heard the interview and not at least lower-cased "lol" to the hospital.
+ According to the grading system used by Pro Football Focus, Bengals defensive end Carlos Dunlap had the best...
Bengals defensive end Michael Johnson is adding to the chorus of confidence initiated by Carlos Dunlap earlier this week. Dunlap, in quick summary, wants to dominate and become the "emerging player" like Geno Atkins was last year as well as a starter. Michael Johnson added on Tuesday that he and Dunlap "can be one of the best tandems in the league, honestly."
In the two years that Carlos Dunlap and Michael Johnson have played...
For the past week the gang at Pro Football Focus has been listing the top individual performances at each position, using their grading system within a top-ten fashion. Rather than a season-long effort to determine who had the best season, we're looking at top individual performances for specific games. Now there weren't any Bengals offensive players that made the list, which isn't entirely surprising considering the level of play...
The Bengals took a chance in the 2010 NFL Draft when they selected Carlos Dunlap in the second round. Fresh off of a DUI at the University of Florida and a suspension from the SEC Championship Game, Dunlap watched his draft stock plummet. It was partly due to his off the field issues, but more largely due to a concern--a single word--that scouts and experts freely throw around every draft night--his motor. Presently, a player's...
