Giveaway: Carlos Mencia’s ‘Performance Enhanced’

29 Oct, 2008  | by Dylan P. Gadino Stand-Up

Digg!

We all know that Carlos Mencia is, to say the very least, a divisive player in the world of stand-up comedy. People have called him many things: a socialist, a terrorist… an elitist. Wrong guy?

Anyway, despite the charges against Mencia, he has remained an amazingly popular comic with a huge fan base. And on a personal level, I have to admit, I have a soft spot for the man, having granted Punchline Magazine our first ever interview in August 2005, before we even had a physical presence online. His Comedy Central show was about to premiere and, clearly, he was willing to talk to anyone he could to promote it; I respect that. He didn’t have to talk to a website, for all he knew, wasn’t even going to launch. So Mencia became our first “cover” story— long before the Joe Rogan et al incidents.

And since we’ve long since established that our readers enjoy getting free shit sent to them in the mail, we’re giving away three copies of Carlos Mencia’s new DVD, Performance Enhanced (Extended & Uncensored), which came out in stores yesterday. The first three people to email us at contest@punchlinemagazine.com will win themselves a copy (and maybe some swell Punchline Magazine schwag). Please use MENCIA in the subject line. Good luck.
