I look at Michael Kors’ new Fall 2011 ad campaign, and I actually want to be the female model. I want to run out and pick up all of the beautiful clothing I watched walk down the runway in February (live stream, of course). This is Michael’s first brunette female model in a long time, which I appreciate. She looks so glamorous, with her sparkles and beautiful gowns and pretty fellas surrounding her. She looks effortlessly chic, which is always the intention.

Entering and leaving a New York Broadway Theater is a subject close to Michael Kors’ heart for he’s been a Broadway Theater fervent since he was five. The campaign has something disturbing, despite its contemporary inspiration.

The same spirit elucidates from these fall 2011 campaigns, this time for the Christmas season. An abundance of furs, angora and cashmere. And again, those dazzling aviators. What I like about them is that they're not conceited in any way. They don't make you feel inadequate, and despite the weather, it's not a cold concept either- it's warm and friendly. This is also the Carmen Kass that many men and women can picture themselves marrying. Everyone wants a foxy, slender housewife to lay them a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings when the time comes. You can pretend to be oblivious to my connotations there... If you want.
