DETROIT, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Testimony in the restitution hearing for former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has been completed and closing arguments will begin in January, a judge said. The Detroit Free Press Thursday said Wayne County Circuit Judge David Groner scheduled closing arguments for the hearing Jan. 12 and the judge is expected to make his ruling on Jan. 20. DETROIT, Dec. 5 (UPI) -- A former Detroit police officer pleaded guilty to bribery Friday and implicated two former aides to Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. Jerry River, 39, of Taylor, Mich., told a federal judge he received $50,000 for helping in the sale of Camp Brighton, a city-owned camp about 50 miles west of Detroit, to the Chaldean Catholic Church, The Detroit News reported.
