It continues to be a rough week in Hollywood as more key entertainers have passed away. Late yesterday afternoon I discovered Joseph Pevney and Alexander Courage passed away earlier this month. Then this morning I came into work and discovered Harvey Korman passed away yesterday! Three more Hollywood greats gone. Star Trek fans are mourning the loss of two men who were key players behind the scenes of the original TV show. Joseph Pevney, who directed 14 episodes of the original 1960’s series died on May 18th. Burnett's career has spanned six decades with work on the stage, in movies and, most notably, TV's "The Carol Burnett Show." LOS ANGELES (AP) — Harvey Korman, the tall, versatile comedian who won four Emmys for his outrageously funny contributions to "The Carol Burnett Show" and on the big screen in "Blazing Saddles," died Thursday. He was 81. Korman died at UCLA Medical Center after suffering complications from the rupture of an abdominal aortic aneurysm four months ago, his family said in a statement released by the hospital. His daughter, Kate Korman, said in the statement that it was a "miracle" that her father had survived the aneurysm at all, and that he had several major operations.
