The Carolina Panthers placed Jake Delhomme on injured reserve Thursday after the injured quarterback struggled to throw the ball in practice this week and developed swelling in a finger, a team source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

They went from division winner to also-ran, playoff-bound to playing out the string while waiting to see if their coach will return next season. Through it all, the injury-riddled Carolina Panthers haven't given up. From shutting down and calling out Randy Moss to beating up Brett Favre so badly his coach wanted to take him out, the Panthers are still fighting.  

Carolina Panthers rookie cornerback Captain Munnerlyn can barely contain his enthusiasm this week. It's not often NFL players get a chance to play against their childhood hero. Munnerlyn was only 3 years old when Brett Favre was drafted into the NFL by the Atlanta Falcons, but Munnerlyn has been a fan ever since he can remember and can tell you all about Green Bay's glory days.
