New York City is arguably – that is, barely arguably – the home of the best stand-up comedy in the country. But let’s face it. Most obsessed comedy fans from across this nation cannot afford to pay $1,700 a month in rent for a 300-square foot studio apartment in Manhattan so that they could take proper advantage of the nightly stand-up greatness that occurs there.
To help spread some of that comedy to the rest of the country, Screenvision and Waggingtail Entertainment have teamed up to produce seven stand-up comedy motion pictures— all filmed in New York to be distributed to movie theaters nationwide. The series of flicks – dubbed Stand-Up 360 – are live recordings hosted by Caroline Rhea and will feature the likes of Judy Gold, Roz G, Wali Collins and Michele Balan and will run more than 100 minutes each. Stand-Up 360 will start premiering in May.
