It was "Country Week" on American Idol, which made it appropiate that American Idol winner Carrie Underwood returned to grace the stages of the singing competition, performing live for the first time her hit duet "I Told You So" with Randy Travis.
But the song wasn't the only thing she was debuting: she also showed off a new bobbed haircut, set off by a black bow.
You can see a video of the two country megastars performing below: It's a remarkable change from Underwood's big hair and long tresses she's been sporting since since winning American Idol in 2005, and has been met with mixed reaction online.
Commenters at Rolling Stone's Rock & Roll Daily blog seemed to hate it, with one commenter Robbery writing: Carrie Underwood’s hair was a joke….she is only 26, but that sprayed-stiff helmet hair looked like it belonged on a 50-year old CW singer…maybe she’s just trying to fit in there at the Grand Ol’ Opry! On the Newsday.com's American Idol blog, commenter girldawg wrote: Looked like she had a bat in her hair. However, the always enlightening crew over at Yahoo Answers had a different opinion, with user bailie28 writing: i actually like it, and her comb over with her bangs looks much better with it shorter. What do you think? Is Carrie's new bob a beaut or a bust? Vote here!
While '80s TV fashion had Denise Huxtable, Mallory Keaton and Stephanie Tanner, the '90s were all about Brenda and Kelly and Amanda Woodward, who made the world safe for impossibly tight office attire.
TV fashion in the '80s was so awesome we had to split it up into two parts. See why we love Punky Brewster, old-school SJP and Angela from 'Who's the Boss?' inside!
