Carroll Shelby

Carroll Shelby, legendary auto designer and racer, passed away today at the age of 89. He introduced the Shelby AC Cobra to the US in the '60s and first gained fame for his big win in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 19959.Shelby's exact cause of death is unknown at this time, but he is said to have passed away at a Dallas hospital. Carroll Hall Shelby (January 11, 1923 – May 10, 2012) was an American automotive designer and racing driver. He was most well known for making the AC Motors-based Shelby American Cobra and later the Mustang-based performance cars for Ford Motor Company known as Mustang Cobras which he has done since 1965.
