Elvira, Mistress Of The Dark (1988) - Various Artists (Custom Soundtrack - Thanks Phaota For Sharing! :D)

Here's another of Phaota's excellent custom made soundtracks. This one is ironically for another movie from 1988. I remember watching this years ago when I was a kid. But I don't remember a whole lot from it. I always dug Elvira and her um huge talents lol! But her personality was always cool and likable. She hosted some specials on the sorely missed and now defunct Monsters HD channel. I'll have to check out this movie again soon. BTW the actress who plays Elvira - Cassandra Petersen - voices a character in Rob Zombie's upcoming animated flick "The Haunted World Of El Superbeasto". Should be awesome!

Here's some interesting notes of trivia courtesy of IMDB.com.
  • Along with the television version, many international theatrical and video versions cut out Elvira's "trick" during the Las Vegas musical number.
  • The widescreen version is actually the regular full screen version but with the top and bottom blacked out. This is proven in the scene were the kids are watching Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. For the scene were a woman with a shopping cart is running from an over-sized tomato, the board with rollers the tomato is sitting on is cut off. As is the shot of Elvira's Elvis t-shirt when she suddenly sits-up from her nightmare. This is because the movie was shot in fullscreen, and matted for theaters. The extra space in the fullscreen version is dead space that was never meant to be seen.
  • During the scene in which Elvira is being burned at the stake, the heat from the flames was so intense that it melted Cassandra Peterson's black Elvira wig.
  • Elvira's Macabremobile was created for the film. The 1958 T-Bird hard top was purchased for $2,500 and went through $7,000+ in alterations. The car has remained in the possession of Cassandra Peterson, who continues to use it when she does personal appearances as Elvira.
