She eventually ended up there after covering fashion for The Detroit News. At a time when fashion bloggers populate the front rows of fashion weeks and anyone with an audience can be a critic, both women consider themselves reporters first.

Last week, Cathy Horyn questioned the validity of new super-high platform heels. Sure, she agrees that they're more comfortable than the regular stiletto, but she has a problem with the wobbly gaggle of girls dangerously strutting around the city.
