Sarah Palin is still popular with many Americans, as the ratings for her new reality TV show, Sarah Palin’s Alaska, debuted to an audience of 5 million.
According to Nielsen, the debut of the show, which showed the 46-year-old Palin rock climbing, fishing and spending time with her family, was the top-rated premiere for any show on TLC. Although it was the biggest premiere of a show in the network’s history, it came nowhere close to drawing in the 10.6 million viewers who watched Jon and Kate Gosselin separate on Jon & Kate Plus 8.
The TV series promises to showcase the whole Palin clan, including husband Todd and children Track, 21, Bristol, 20, Willow, 16, Piper, 9, and 2-year-old Trig. The show promises to show Sarah Palin and her family engaging in many of the outdoor activities that the state of Alaska is known for.
