Eva Longoria Joins Obama’s Re-Election Campaign

President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign has named 35 national co-chairs, including elected officials, campaign volunteers and a few celebrities, according to the HuffPost.

This is an interesting news that Eva Longoria has been selected to serve as national co-chairs on President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign. She and Harold and Kumar star Kal Penn (real name Kalpen Modi) are longtime and unwavering Obama supporters.

“Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria wrote on her Twitter account while confirming the news, “I’m thrilled to be a National Co-Chair for @BarackObama’s re-election campaign.” The co-chairs are responsible for mobilizing voters as well as giving input to the President on strategic issues.

Meanwhile, Obama’s campaign manager, Jim Messina, said in a statement, “The president’s national co-chairs will be tremendous assets on the ground as we build the biggest grassroots campaign in history. Five campaign volunteers from key battleground states have also gained the title of co-chair.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that “Desperate Housewives” star vigorously campaigned for him last time around and he actually served for a time as associate director of the White House Office of Public Engagement.
