The 5 Juiciest Reveals from Kim Kardashian's 'Rolling Stone' Interview
This is a side of Kim we've never seen before.
Kim Kardashian gets a pretty bad rap.
She's a successful businesswoman, a beauty guru, a wife and a mother, but when the general public refers to her, it almost always tracks back to a whole lot of skin and a whole lot of Ray J.
Maybe it's time to move on.
In a recent Rolling Stone interview, we saw Kim in an entirely new light; honest, transparent and refreshingly down-to-earth, the curves that made her famous seem to fade to the background in the face of a resounding humanity.
In truth, it takes a brilliant mind to achieve what she has. Though it's not a traditional tale of rags to riches, there was a time that she spent more hours organizing Paris Hilton's shoes than her own.
Within the body of the interview lay five profound reveals. You may just come out of it with a new outlook.
1. Kim identifies as a feminist.
The buxom brunette is a living reminder that expressing one's sexuality is more an embodiment of feminism than a counter.
Despite her hesitancy to adopt "labels," she says, "...I just am who I am. But, yeah. I think you would call me a feminist."
2. She'd really like for you to see her as she sees herself: smart.
"I believe that I am so much smarter than I'm portrayed," she states.
Though "chicken or fish" comments have been made famous by the sound bites and clips of celeb reality shows, they're not always the most accurate representations of the people we're watching.
3. That sex tape? Eh, old news. But she does know who released it.
Kim reveals that she knows exactly who released the sex tape that kicked off her fame. However, due to being "in major confidentiality," she's unable to provide any more information at this time.
4. OJ Simpson stayed in Kim's sister Khloe's room during his trials.
Robert Kardashian, Kim's late father and a lawyer famous for his aptitude, was friends with Simpson prior to his 1995 murder trial. She shares that Simpson slept in sister Khloe's room during this time.
Meanwhile, her parents were embroiled in their own debate; while Kardashian matriarch Kris believed Simpson to be guilty, Robert defended his friend to the end.
5. She's known that step-father Caitlyn Jenner had a secret for more than 12 years.
Though she's alluded to it before, Kim seems especially open when she tells RS that she was "shaking" after having walked in on Caitlyn Jenner in women's clothes prior to her transition.
"I didn't know if I'd just found out his deepest, darkest secret, and he was going to come after me," she elaborated.
Shortly afterward, though, Jenner called Kim not only to ask her not to share what she'd seen, but to let her know that, one day, things would be clear.
