Bella Thorne (Getty) With Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, and Demi Lovato all grown up and out of their long-running Disney contracts, there's room for a new crop of teen dreams to make their mark on the preteen entertainment world. Among the brightest stars in the new crop of enterprising young adults is Bella Thorne, a 14-year-old multi-hyphenate best known for her role on the Disney Channel original series Shake It Up!
Bella isn't quite a household name yet, but she definitely has some ardent fans among her 540,000 Twitter followers. And with a Disney Channel television movie coming up in 2012, you'll probably be seeing a lot more of her very soon.
Thorne, who just released the single "Bubblegum Boy" with her co-star Zendaya, has some surprising tastes when it comes to music. She told American Cheerleader magazine that she's a real rap fan, even insisting, "I'm actually pretty good at it. I love performing."
While it's unclear how long we'll have to wait for Bella's rap debut (Miley only showed off her skills after she decided to quit Twitter the first time around), we do have a couple of songs lined up for her celebrity playlist. Check these out!
Diddy - Dirty Money's "Hello Good Morning"
In a video interview taken last year, Bella eagerly asserted that this Diddy Dirty Money song was among her very favorites. Who would've guessed she'd be so into hip-hop? With any luck, she'll release her own remix sometime in the next couple of years and show Justin Bieber who's boss of the teen star freestyles.
Example's "Changed the Way You Kissed Me"
Bella tweeted a link to this video not too long ago with the message, "u are gonna miss me." You're never too young for heartbreak, but having house songs by good-looking British men to turn to certainly eases the ache. We imagine Bella has fun shaking it to this song while warming up for Shake It Up! rehearsals.
Lil Wayne's "How to Love"
So we're operating on assumptions with this one, but Bella did say that Lil Wayne was one of her favorites "because he's beautiful and amazing and...yeah."
So Bella has a crush on Lil Wayne, which is pretty interesting considering she's probably already taller than him. But given how he romantic he sounds on this particular track, we kind of get it. Kind of.
