Celine Cawley Killed by Home Invader

Authorities suspect Cawley's attacker escaped through the back garden. (Daily Telegraph)
Celine Cawley hasn't been a household name stateside since her peak days in the '80s when she was an internationally known model and actress who appeared in the 007 film "A View to a Kill."

But the 46-year-old former Bond girl was still going strong in Ireland, where she had made a successful career of advertising and producing films. Cawley's husband found her lying unconscious Monday morning in their North Dublin home and chased off the thief who had targeted the house in the prestigious Howth Head neighborhood.

The Telegraph reports that Cawley was taken to a hospital where she died shortly thereafter. Her attacker still hasn't been found.
Colleagues said they were stunned by her murder. "We are all incredibly shocked," a spokesman for the firm said before appealing for privacy.

Detectives believe the attacker escaped by running through the back garden.

Joan Maher, a local councillor, said it was a disturbing murder in a normally quiet area.

"I'm absolutely shocked and stunned. It's horrendous coming up to Christmas," she said.
